Dave is legally blind, has the use of one hand, and maintains mobility through the use of an electric wheelchair. Throughout Dave’s life, health issues have constantly plagued him. When Dave initially came to Eastco in 1995, he was scared to fail and became anxious when introduced to new skills. The staff was told that Dave would not be able to do much. With the assistance of job coaches at Eastco, Dave was introduced to new skills in an environment comfortable to him. Dave gained confidence in his achievement of these skills. Today, Dave can do any job skill presented to him. Dave’s passion to work and participate in his life is his joy. “Can’t” is no longer part of Dave’s vocabulary.

Eastco's Mission: To provide vocational, residential and other social services to developmentally challenged individuals and their families which will support them in exercising choice, increasing independence and community integration and participating productively in society.
